Tradition Venetian Plaster is a lime and crushed marble putty that is heavily troweled to produce atwo tone effect. The darker the colour the more it plays on depth and light.
Microcement is more stronger than venetian plaster. It can strengthen up to 80psi and is flexible. It’s ideal for use on on bathroom walls, inside floors, all wall and ceiling substrates.
We don’t recommend for certain areas like shower floors, outside floor areas and pools.
The hallmark feature of Venetian Plaster is the high shine. The multiple layers and towelling technique is what creates a result that has depth. the darker the colour the more 2 tone. It has a luxurious feel that complements many different design elements and styles.
One of the best ways to create a mediterranean finish is by using Rockcote cement render then using a creative trowel technique of the clients choosing. You can add a colour to this texture if you like (which I recommend as it gives the slight variation and two-tone effect).
This is a more cost effective way to achieve the mediterranean finish than using venetian plaster which is commonly recommended. This means you can do your entire home and maybe even internal walls and ceilings.
How to achieve the perfect mediterranean vibe:
– grinding corners for a curved result
– designing the house to have mediterranean style feel like arch ways and niches (foam/nrg green board is amazing for this as it’s light weight and easy to install)
– We can render over existing brickwork, gyprock, hebel, foam and almost any surface.
The mediterranean render look can be achieved with a variety of natural renders which will highlight the design of your building. For large areas on external walls, whole houses, coloured fine coat is our first choice.
Products we use:
